Life Cycle Events Overview:
The importance of tradition cannot be understated in Judaism. Throughout our history, Jewish religious belief was prohibited; its practice was often a cause for discrimination and persecution.
We are blessed today, particularly in this country, to have the ability to believe in our faith with our hearts, our minds and our souls. By remembering this blessing, following the commandments and developing our Jewish beliefs, we are, in effect, connecting ourselves to our Jewish past and our Jewish future. We become a link in the chain and a part of its traditions. This continuity is critical; indeed, it is one of the reasons Judaism has survived.
