Tsunami Relief Effort
Dear CSI Member,
Many of you have expressed your concern for the victims of the recent tsunami and have asked how you can help.
Following are the names of four Jewish agencies that are assisting in the relief effort:
1. The American Jewish World Service, 45 West 36th Street, 10th floor, NYC 10018; (212) 736-2597 or (800) 889-7146, www.ajws.org.
2. UJA Federation of New York, 130 East 59th Street, NYC (212) 980-1000, www.ujafedny.org.
3. The American Joint Jewish Distribution Committee (JDC), Box 321, 847A Second Avenue, NYC 10017. Please make checks payable to: JDC: South Asia Tsunami Relief, www.jdc.org.
4. The Magen David Adom, 888 Seventh Avenue, NYC 10106, www.armdi.org.
In addition, we are also encouraging the children in our school to bring in loose change that will be forwarded to an appropriate agency. There are water jugs in the main lobby and the school entrance for the coins.
I thank you for your interest in helping and hope that this information is of use.
Rabbi Kane
