Children's Services: “V’shinantem Livanecha” – ‘You should teach your children’

At CSI we have several service opportunities for our children. Each service meets monthly except for Junior Congregation, which meets weekly. The dates and times of all Children's Services may be found in our website calendar.

Torah for Tots (3, 4 and 5 year olds)

This service features lots of singing, dancing and stories. It is fun for both parents and children to attend this warm and inviting service.

Prozdor Service (1st and 2nd graders)

This service is geared toward our new and flowering Hebrew readers.

Junior Congregation (3rd, 4th and 5th graders)

This service is our main children’s service. It meets weekly during the school year, except for school holiday weeks. In this service, we focus on teaching the children about the service and preparing them to lead services. There is always a lively Torah discussion. Junior congregation is a great sight to see, and adults are invited to come and visit. Sorry, no chocolate bars for adults.

Kadima Service (6th and 7th graders)

This monthly service is a great way to continue learning the service and to fulfill Religious School service attendance requirements. Beginning at 10:30am, the Kadima service bridges junior congregation and the main service. We keep the fun of junior congregation while we begin to incorporate the content of the main service. The Kadima service is also a great place to practice leading in preparation for the Bar and Bar Mitzvah.
