Dear CSI Families,
The CSI community stands together during this turbulent time and has stayed focused on continuing to provide support, education, worship, and connection.
We are doing what we can to stay connected and to accommodate families through on-line classes (for preschool children, school age students, and adults), virtual programs and services, calls, and emails. The Caring Community has been busy reaching out in supportive ways to families in mourning. Sisterhood has been offering online activities, and we continue to seek opportunities to enrich the lives of our members. We are a community so fortunate to have many wonderful active volunteers. A large percentage of our families of all ages have been actively engaged in one way or another.
In a nod to normalcy (do we even remember that word?) we are writing to remind you that this is the time of year we’d be inviting you to our Annual Event at CSI. As expected, this tradition, which brings us together for fun and entertainment, has been cancelled.
While the event has historically been a way to honor one or more members of the CSI community for their commitment to the synagogue, it is, first and foremost, a fundraiser.
Each year the annual budget includes an assumption that we will raise a minimum of $36,000 from the Annual Event to meet our financial responsibilities.
This year is different in many ways, but not in this way! This income is essential to CSI.
Have you previously supported the event by buying tickets, purchasing a journal advertisement and/or through raffle tickets? If yes, then please consider a donation at the same level as you would in past years.
There are four named donation levels, or you can donate any multiple of Chai (“Life” or $18), such as by the number of years you have been a CSI member or one for each of your children or grandchildren, or any other amount you’d like. Donations of ALL amounts are very much appreciated, are tax deductible, and will be acknowledged in our online bulletin. Kindly make your donation by May 27th so we can better plan our budget for the balance of the fiscal year, which ends June 30, 2020.
Thank you in advance for your support. Stay safe, stay healthy.
