The CSI community is comprised of a wide variety of people from all walks of life. Each member brings a unique personal perspective that is blended with traditional Jewish beliefs and practices to create and sustain our spiritual, social, intellectual and cultural activities.
“Membership” is more than a definition of your administrative status at CSI; it is a deeply-ingrained philosophy of inclusion that, for 120 years, has supported our growth and allowed us to maintain a consistent Conservative Jewish presence in Northern Westchester.
THE CSI MISSION STATEMENT – adopted in 1999, revised in 2007: “Congregation Sons of Israel is an egalitarian, Conservative synagogue dedicated to imparting Jewish values and traditions from generation to generation in a welcoming participatory environment. We are a caring community committed to lifelong Jewish learning, the observance of mitzvot, meaningful prayer and charitable deeds. We promote spiritual, cultural and social connections within our community, to the State of Israel and to Jews worldwide.”
CSI is home to many interfaith families. Contact Rabbi Kane if you have questions about membership and participation of a non-Jewish spouse/partner.
