About Congregation Sons of Israel

Congregation Sons of Israel is a vibrant, multi-generational community of approximately 300 member families. We are proud to be a place where people of all ages, backgrounds, and stories come together in Jewish life. Whether you are continuing a deep family tradition or seeking a new spiritual home, you’ll find welcome and warmth here.

Some of our members have multi-generational roots in our congregation, while others are new to the area or to Jewish practice. All who seek connection, community, and meaning are invited to make CSI their home.

Learning

At CSI, we believe that Jewish learning is a lifelong journey.

We are proud to host one of the county’s most respected early learning centers, nurturing our youngest learners with care and intention. Our inclusive Religious School is among the finest in the region—joyful, accessible, and deeply rooted in Jewish tradition.

Learning doesn’t stop with childhood: our Lifelong Learning programs offer study and exploration for all ages and backgrounds, including Melton courses, Scholars in Residence, and adult education that spans text, ethics, and personal growth. At every stage of life, we provide opportunities to learn, question, and grow.

Prayer & Worship

Prayer at CSI is dynamic, participatory, and heartfelt.

We offer a wide range of worship opportunities—from small, intimate gatherings to full traditional Conservative services—creating spiritual spaces that speak to a variety of needs and preferences.

Our main sanctuary, constructed in 1995, is an architectural gem. Designed in-the-round, it draws everyone close to the center of prayer and Torah, creating a deeply engaging and spiritually uplifting experience for all who gather.

Organic Farming

A truly unique part of CSI is our fully functioning organic farm, a living expression of our Jewish values and our connection to the land.

The farm includes:

  • Raised beds for communal planting
  • Chickens, herbs, tomatoes, squash, and more
  • A prayer and meditation garden with walking paths
  • Educational integration with our schools and events

The farm is woven into the life of our community. Its produce appears at farm-to-table kiddush luncheons, is donated to local food banks, and even graces the tables of area restaurants. At our events, centerpieces often double as plantable herbs, offering guests a literal taste of our earth-based values.

At Congregation Sons of Israel, Judaism is not only taught and practiced—it is lived. In the sanctuary, the classroom, the kitchen, and the garden, we come together to celebrate tradition, cultivate meaning, and care for one another and the world.
