Nursery School Program Information

At CSI Nursery School, we offer a blended approach in the classroom that draws on the best practices in early childhood education, combining play-based learning, child-led exploration, and thoughtful teacher guidance to create a rich and balanced educational experience.

Each class follows a natural developmental progression. Our 2’s program gently supports children as they separate from parents or caregivers, helping them discover that school is a safe, special place just for them. They begin learning classroom routines and feel comfortable in a world outside of home.

In the 3’s class, children gain increased independence. Their day includes more structure and a wider variety of choices, encouraging autonomy and confidence. By the time they reach the 4’s class, children are preparing for kindergarten while still engaging in meaningful, concentrated, child-directed play. Across all age groups, children learn to navigate social dynamics, collaborate with peers, and build friendships through play and shared experiences.

Our highly experienced teachers thoughtfully balance structured activities with open-ended, creative play. They provide the scaffolding children need to grow and succeed—socially, emotionally, and academically. Daily experiences promote development across all early childhood domains: fine motor skills (including pre-writing), gross motor skills (active, large-muscle play), creativity, imaginative play, early literacy, science, and foundational math.

Children spend time outside every day—whether on our playground, at our on-site farm, or in our outdoor dramatic play area—fostering a deep connection to nature and active exploration.

Our core program runs from 9:00 to 11:55 a.m., offering a thoughtfully designed, enriching start to each child’s early school experience.
