Welcome Message

This is who we are…

L’dor Va’Dor is a way of life at CSI. Every generation holds an honored place in our building.

Congregation Sons of Israel is an egalitarian, Conservative synagogue in Westchester County, N.Y. dedicated to imparting Jewish values and traditions from generation to generation in a welcoming participatory environment.

We are a caring community committed to lifelong Jewish learning, the observance of mitzvot, meaningful prayer and charitable deeds. We promote spiritual, cultural and social connections within our community, to the State of Israel and to Jews worldwide. CSI is also proud to be the only synagogue in Westchester with an Organic Farm on site.  Together we grow, harvest, sell and eat the freshest vegetables available.

Our member families encompass a broad demographic from young parents to those in their 90’s, as well as interfaith families who are seamlessly welcomed into our community. CSI’s programming reflects the range of age groups! All members and guests are welcome at the bimah, regardless of faith. We encourage members and their guests to read Torah and to assist with all aspects of our services.

Our Adult & Family Learning Programs are designed to provide a full spectrum of Jewish study, from Basic Judaism and Adult Bar/Bat Mitzvah to Talmud and Jewish Medical Ethics. THE RABBI’S CIRCLE AT CSI, established in 2006, is a member-supported organization which exemplifies the concept of community life: Rabbi’s Circle members provide the funding for our speakers and programs, all of which are open to the public. The Rabbi’s Circle at CSI is the winner of an International Solomon Schechter Award (Sollie) in the category of Adult Education.

Senior programming is a big part of what we offer. Members of the CSI community and the extended area gather here weekly for Jews in the News, twice a month for Yiddish Club and Senior Discussion Group with Shari Baum, C.S.W., and monthly for our HaMishpacha Luncheon which includes a freshly made, served luncheon and a program of interest to our seniors.

We have an active (and award-winning) USY and Kadima that continues to produce a new generation of leaders in the Jewish community. Our students consistently create activities and projects for social interaction and tikkun olam, including hands-on food and medical supply drives and training for roles in national leadership.

From our N.S. Playgroup through our High School, children at CSI are an integral part of our programming and are vital to our congregation. Stop in at any time and you’ll find our 2’s learning the motzi, our 5th graders learning about Israel or our High School students enjoying a bagel brunch and planning Social Action events that reach out to everyone.

CSI is proud to be an active, consistently well-respected Conservative Synagogue in Westchester County, NY.
