Pride Committee

The Pride Committee generally meets on the first Tuesday of the month.

CSI’s PRIDE Committee was established to create an embracing community and safe spaces for all of our members and guests, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. We are committed to educating and creating awareness around LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning/Queer, etc.) subjects through a variety of programs and collaborations.

One of our first initiatives is to launch a Welcoming initiative as one way we can make our building more safe, inclusive, and respectful of gender and sexual diversity.

You may notice the Safe Space stickers around our building. These are the spaces where individuals can talk freely with Rabbi Rosenberg, Cantor Shiovitz, Nursery School Director Naomi Elyachar, Religious School Director Sheera  Zuckerman, PRIDE Committee Chair Sue Haber, and/or educators about feelings and issues without feeling judged. Safe Spaces are designed to allow the individual to express oneself in a more relaxed setting, without fear of being made to feel uncomfortable, unwelcome, or unsafe because of biological sex, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, cultural background, religious affiliation, age, or physical or mental ability.
