Kol Nidre Giving

Congregation Sons of Israel, to continue to grow and flourish, must rely on the generosity of our members. Your generosity and commitment ensures that we are able to meet the needs of everyone in our congregation and make all congregants feel valued and welcome. As the Talmud says, “All Jews are responsible for each other.”

It is CSI’s longstanding practice to set membership dues at a level we believe to be accessible to most, if not all. In this way we can welcome many members into our warm and inclusive community. Dues, however, do not cover our operating expenses, and many of our fellow members have been negatively impacted economically by the consequences of the pandemic, which as further challenged our budget. Your consideration and generosity are needed now more than ever.

While our building temporarily closed due to COVID-19, our operating expenses, unfortunately, increased because of the pandemic. The pandemic necessitated that CSI invest in additional expensive, but necessary, resources to maintain CSI’s community as a forceful online presence. Moreover, adherence to new and strict health guidelines for CSI’s safe physical reopening resulted in essential investments in new health and safety equipment and protocols for the safety of our professional staff and members.

We are strong as a community and we will thrive because each of us will do what we can to make that happen. Giving by all, no matter the amount in these difficult times, will allow CSI as a community to fulfill the mandate of tzedakah and gemilut hasadim – acts of loving kindness – to members of our own congregation and all whose lives we touch. Through generous collective giving, we strengthen our own Jewish community by strengthening CSI, presently and in the future, as an enduring Jewish community in Northern Westchester.

Please consider the Kol Nidre giving tradition and donate to CSI in any amount to help us further our work in service of our community and our faith. You may make your donation below or by sending a check to the CSI office.

We deeply appreciate and greatly value your commitment to CSI.
